Who is Ian Maclean ?

Above all I am a freelance Writer & Presenter, with a special interest in Astronomy , Space science, Enviromental Issues and Travel Writing. I am pround to be associated with the NT writers centre as the convener of Arnhem Writers, a group of local Writers, poets, songwriters, playwrights and musicians who meet monthly to showcase and further develop their craft.

When it comes to the night sky, astronomy for beginners, space science discovery , aboriginal astronomy, the planets, galaxies, nebulas, star clusters and binary stars of deep space are just some of the facets of astronomy that drive my passion for writing and presenting.

Regular articles are published at EzineArticles where I report on the latest happenings in the night sky and share my experiences under the clear night skies of Arnhem Land NT and beyond.

Each week on my radio science program “The Science Show” on 106.9 GoveFM, I discuss a whole bunch of Astronomy, Space Science, General Science & Environmental topics.
You can access the best of these shows as podcasts at AskTheScienceGuru , down loadable to your MP3 player via the RSS feed, or you can simply listen to them on the AskTheScienceGuru Page.

Astronomy presentations for the Public, School and Private groups, are a regular event in Arnhem land NT Australia, where I weave my special interest of Aboriginal Astronomy, into my night sky tours.

I am honored to have received a Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary for my work throughout the Arnhem Land community in astronomy and science education.

You have to start somewhere with astronomy, and the best place is www.nightskysecrets.com where you can pick up a great fr*ee audio introduction to the secrets of the night sky. It’s for anyone has ever looked up and wondered “What’s Out There ?” and “how can I discover more?”
